Dr. Michael J. Walkovich is a board-certified podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon previously based in Toledo, Ohio. He has over 30 years of experience and specializes in conditions such as ankle and foot arthritis, flatfoot, hammertoe, bunions, sports injuries, achilles tendon rupture, foot & ankle fractures/trauma, diabetic foot care, Charcot foot, ankle arthroscopy and advanced procedures like total ankle replacement and revision surgery.
Dr. Walkovich co-founded Foot & Ankle Physicians & Surgeons in 2006, a private practice with multiple locations in the Toledo area.
He is board-certified in Foot Surgery and Rearfoot/Ankle Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
He has played an active role in training the next generation of podiatric physicians in the Toledo area at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical, where he has served as the Chief of Podiatry for 18 years.
Dr. Walkovich advocates for an active lifestyle with all his patients from young athletes to weekend-warriors to octogenarians.

He lives an active lifestyle himself from playing hockey and golf to racing triathlons including the Ironman.
Born in the United States and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Walkovich earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in Chicago at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995, where he graduated with honors.
Dr. Walkovich and wife Teresa met in high school in Scarborough, Ontario and recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have three beautiful daughters in their 20’s.
